Inluenster Latina Beauty Voxbox

Hello again!

I'm so glad you're here! The Beauty Addict returns once again to share another wonderful experience! To be honest, I've been dying to share this with you. Today's review is all about influenster.comThis is a website dedicated to the fun and flirty little fashionista in all of us! Here you can rate and review various featured products while collecting badges in various categories to be qualified for free – YES FREE – full sized products to rate and review! If you are selected, you get sent a Voxbox full of great products that range from cosmetics to food!
This month I was very lucky to receive a Voxbox geared towards Latina beauties, and being one myself I was anxious to see what was in store for me! As soon as I got my box I squealed in excitement and opened it like a kid at Christmas!

my goody box, all compliments of influenster.com!

In my Voxbox, I received a travel sized bottle of Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods fragrance (3oz), a sample bag of tampax/always radiant products that came in an adorable pink clutch purse, a travel sized bottle of Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration spf30 sunscreen (3oz), a box of Veet ready to use leg waxing strips, a box of new Always Infinity Radiant scented pads, and a tube of NYC’s Liquid Lip Shine in “Nude York City”. It also came with a little card giving descriptions of each product and their retail price, which I think is awesome, it shows you just how valuable your box is! And now on to the review!

Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods Shower Gel ($5.00 for 3oz, $11.00 for 10oz)

I am a huge Bath and Body Works junkie! Every time I go I find it difficult not to leave without a few things, and the constant sales they throw are an even bigger tease, so I can never resist!
My Voxbox had a travel sized shower gel of one of their signature scents, Twilight Woods. It has a woody/musky fragrance that smells very subtle, and leaves skin feeling soft and nourished. You don’t need a lot of it either, it has a rich lather.  Just pour a small amount onto a bath pouf, lather, and you’re good to go! I have used plenty of other scents from Bath and Body Works, but never this one. Musky notes have never been my thing, but I am glad I got to try this one finally. It isn’t too strong, and on my skin it lightens up more, I love it! I will be buying this scent on my next visit, along with a few favorites more than likely. Curse you Bath and Body works for your awesomeness!

You can find this scent in stores and on the Bath and Body Works website

Always/Tampax Radiant Sample Box (prices vary)

I loved the little clutch the products came in! It makes that time of the month more comfortable and private for us ladies, and gives you a dash of extra flare as well! This little clutch was packed with feminine products, as well as a mini coupon book.

clutch contents: purse, 1 scented pad, 3 unscented liners, 2 tampons on different sizes, booklet of coupons
I must admit, before sampling the tampons I was terrified. I’ve never used them before, I’ve heard horror stories, and I’ve imagined it being a rather uncomfortable experience. But while this sample was my first attempt ever at using one of these, I am pleasantly surprised at how much comfort I experienced! First of all, the instructions were very simple to understand, making the rest a cakewalk. I did not feel any discomfort during use, so for a first attempt I was ecstatic!
On the whole, I liked the tampons (the size I used, anyway), but I cannot see myself implementing It permanently into my routine. While they were comfortable, I am content with pads, and don’t see a need for me to reach for tampons just yet. I will consider using them for times I feel I cannot use a pad, but probably no more than that. But for all you tampon users out there, check them out, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

Always Radiant Infinity Pads ($6.99)

I have been using Always Infinity Pads for a long time. They are incredibly comfortable, lightweight, and super absorbent. Always Radiant pads are the exact same great product, but lightly scented. They smell very nice, very clean and feminine. I like the added scent, I believe it helps us ladies to feel more confident and not embarrassed or feeling like you’d rather crawl into a hole for 7 days!

love the cute packaging!

i love that they specify which end goes where. lord knows i've made the mistake with other pads!
They’re made from a soft and durable yet thin foam material that moves with you and keeps you dry for a long time. Here's a diagram from Always explaining how it works:

These pads are a bit smaller than the ones I usually use, but they’re perfect for those lighter days, and I will definitely be buying more of these!

You can find these at most drugstores and other retailers!

Veet Ready To Use Leg Waxing Strips ($9.99)

I thought the idea of instant waxing without a trip to the salon was great, so I was excited to try these out at home!

two strips stuck together
The box contains 40 wax strips and 6 wipes for easy cleanup afterwards. Two strips are stuck together, so all you need to do is rub the strips in your hands for a few seconds to warm up the wax, stick it to the desired area of your leg, wait about 5 minutes, and let it rip! I waxed my legs, and I was so happy with the results! I felt virtually no pain, and cleanup was so simple. My legs didn’t get irritated either, and having sensitive skin myself I was very pleased.
Fortunately for me, the hair on my legs is pretty light, but it makes showing my results very difficult. Luckily I also have the most awesome boyfriend, and he volunteered to take one for the team so I could show you how well the strips work!

thumbs up for my boyfriend! <3
Unfortunately, we couldn't show the end result, his skin flared up quite a bit, his skin is way more sensitive than mine, and it took a while for the redness to dissipate. So if your skin is very sensitive, I would not recommend you use these. But if your skin is able to handle it, this  is a great product, and I will most definitely be getting more!

These are available at most drugstores and other retailers!

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration spf30 Sunscreen ($7.99 for full sized bottle)

I love this sunscreen! Before getting this sample, I had discovered it originally at Walgreens, were they were having a mini sale on sunscreen and razors, buy one get one free. I was able to mix and match, so I bought the spf12 version along with some Shick razors. In the past 2-3 years I have apparently a mild photosensitivity, which makes my skin blister into tiny white bubbles and itch like hell. When they subside, they leave sections of my forearms a shade lighter than my olive tone. Since using this sunscreen I don’t feel as itchy, and the bubbles don’t really develop as much. It has also somewhat improved the light spots of my sun damaged skin. I actually had no idea this sunscreen came in a higher spf, so I was really excited.
It smells great, kind of like cocoa butter, vanilla and shea, and has a cute “silk” swirl wrapped around the sunscreen. It’s a bit oily, but to me that just means I don’t have to use much, thus making the bottle last longer! Definitely worth the money, I will be buying this again!

You can find this sunscreen at most drugstores and other retailers.

NYC New York Color Liquid Lip Shine, “Nude York City”
                                         ($2.49)

I have never used a nude lip color before this one, so I was a little leery about trying this I have to admit. It isn’t that I don’t like the color, I just never believed it would look good on me. After trying this color I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It smells nice, like vanilla, and goes on nicely. It took only one tube dip to cover my lips. It isn’t as sticky as I thought it’d be, and lasts a good while. I was able to drink without it coming off, too. So all in all I’d say I was very happy with this product, and for the price it’s worth a try! I may or may not be buying this, I usually prefer reds, but this would be good for those days that I prefer to go natural.

Introduction & Review: L'Occitane Skincare Products

Hello Lovelies! I am the Beauty Addict, here to help all you fellow addicts out there to feel luxurious and gorgeous without having to be denied the pampering you deserve! I am super excited to be starting this blog and to be sharing all I find with you! (see below level of excitedness ^_^)

yeah, that excited
And now with introductions out of the way, on to the reviews!

L'Occitane Skincare

left: shea butter foot cream, lavender hand cream, the "world famous" shea butter hand cream
center: cherry blossom soap, almond soap, lavender fizzy pebble
right: lavender relaxing roll-on, pivoine flora shower gel

L'Occitane is an eco-friendly skincare/fragrance line that prides itself in using all natural ingredients that are plant-based and clinically proven to do more for your skin than other skincare products with more chemical based ingredients.
During a visit to their 14th street and 9th avenue shop, I was greeted by the gorgeous scent of immortelle and lavender, and two of the most amazing sales associates I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. I was new to the store, and only went there to get a free 30ml sample of their world famous shea butter hand creme, which usually costs only $10! Let me tell you, when I get a coupon for a freebie, I will trek to that store to get it! This was a very generous sample too, and a great opportunity to try a new brand. And according to the company, one of these creams are sold every 3 seconds around the world! So of course I had to see what the hype was about!
Jessica, one of the sales associates, showed me and my friend Mary Ann around the store to look at their best selling products, and her coworker, James, helped me to create a mini swag bag of products to try out (shown above.) Altogether, I spent $60 on my purchase, and on top of getting the free hand cream with my coupon, for spending $60 I got a free full sized bottle of shower gel! I definitely felt like I walked out of the store with my money's worth!
So for anyone who lives in NYC check out the L'Occitane shop on 14th street and 9th avenue! Or if you plan on visiting the city check the shop out! Jessica and James are amazing, and they will help you find exactly what you're looking for! Reviewing time!

Shea Butter Foot Cream ($10 for 1oz, $28 for 5.2oz)

1oz bottle
This foot cream feels so nice! The minute I opened the bottle I could smell the lavender! (I loooove lavender!) It is infused with lavender oil, shea butter and mint for cooling and moisturizing. The consistency is very light, not at all oily, and made my feet feel so soft! The mint made my feet tingly too, which I enjoyed. This is perfect for using after a long day of work or running errands, so treat your feet!

Lavender Hand Cream ($10 for 1oz, $22 for 2.6oz)

1oz bottle
As stated before, I love lavender. And I immediately fell in love with this hand cream! This also has shea butter infused with the lavender oil, and nourishes your skin while leaving a soft and subtle lavender scent. This cream was also not oily, and melted into my skin when I applied it to my hands, not to mention it smelled lovely. I will most definitely be buying this again!

Shea Butter Hand Cream ($10 for 1oz, $28 for 5.2oz)

1oz bottle
This is what I initially went to the store to get, and I was not disappointed. It's no wonder that this cream sells so many units, it really is great! It is infused with  shea butter, honey, almond extracts and coconut oil for nourishing and moisturizing. I'm seeing so far that this brand's creams are very mindful about consistency, this one wasn't oily feeling either. It smells very nice and light, powdery, not too powdery, but just enough that your hands smell wonderful. my hands felt very nice and supple after the first use! Definitely a must buy in my book! This was a great freebie, and I don't know how long this promo will last, so if you would like to get a free 1oz bottle of this cream, here is the link!

Cherry Blossom Soap ($5.00 1.7oz, $15.00 soap trio)

1.7oz bar
Along with lavender, I am a huge cherry blossom lover. So I thought this would be a nice thing to try. I haven't used mine yet, but I used a sample, and it smells wonderful. very light smelling, not too overpowering, which I like because a lot of cherry blossom scented products tend to be on the sharp side. My hands felt very clean afterwards, no feeling of residue stuck to my hands - some soaps give me that feeling like I didn't wash all of it off. A nice buy, and it looks like it'll last long.

Almond Soap ($5.00 for 1.7oz)

1.7oz bar
This soap bar was recommended to me by James. It has a light almond blossom scent, and crushed almond shells for exfoliating. I was very interested in trying this product because my skin sometimes feels a bit rough, especially in winter weather. During the summer I feel icky from sweating, so exfoliating helps me to feel good about my skin after a long day of cooking in the sun. I got to try this one at home, and I really enjoyed it. My skin felt rejuvenated and perfect!
how i felt after using the almond soap, minus the fish slap... (I love cartoons btw, so get used to seeing a few
references here and there :p)
Anyway, this is a nice soap, and I recommend it to anyone who has rough skin, or just wants to treat their body to some gentle and natural dermabrasion. :)

Lavender Fizzy Pebble ($4.00 for 1.7oz)

1.7oz pebble
This pebble is a lavender scented bath bomb. I love bath bombs, they leave my skin feeling good and smelling great. A nice long soak is a great way to treat yourself after a long day, and I know when I get to use this, I will feel very relaxed. The lavender scent comes through the plastic packaging. I smelled it and already felt my stress melting away. I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, but so far this brand has not disappointed me, so I look forward to pampering myself one night.

Lavender Relaxing Roll-On ($15.00 for 0.33oz)

0.33oz bottle
This was another recommendation by James. He said it relaxes your muscles, helps you fall asleep, and helps with headaches. I get frequent headaches, and I'm tired of popping two Aleves every time I feel one coming on, so I decided to try it. While at work, I had difficulty relaxing and letting sleep take me. My job is an overnight job, but I do get to sleep for a bit, and I have a lot of difficulty sleeping no matter where I am. So, I tried using this roll-on. The directions say to put it on your temples, the nape of your neck, and your wrists, then to inhale and relax, so I did. I was pleasantly surprised, after a little while I felt less tense, and although it didn't put me to sleep, it relaxed me enough that sleep could take me naturally. It was heavenly!

aaaaahhhhhh.....

Pivoine Flora Shower Gel ($8.00 for 2.5oz, $20.00 for 8.4oz)

8.4oz bottle

I got this full sized bottle for free with my purchase! The scent is peony, it smells a bit like roses, but more perfumed. I love the smell of this shower gel, it's fresh and feminine, and feels luxurious on my skin. A little goes a long way too. You should use a bath pouf with this wash, it lathers up more and you won't need as much gel. I know some people just use their hands, but with this wash I'd advise you to use a washcloth, sponge or pouf to elongate the life of your bottle.

Sorbet Verbena Cooling Gloss (limited edition item, $12.00)

0.5oz tube, limited edition
This gloss was a little something extra that I picked up. It's a limited edition from their Verbena collection. I fell in love with this gloss, it isn't sticky at all, it smells amazing, and it has a nice minty tingle that leaves my lips feeling cool and moisturized. The scent is a mix of fruity, floral, and citrus, and I think I smell an apple-ish undertone in there too. Everything from this limited edition line is gorgeous, and I hope they don't discontinue it too soon, I still want to get a few other items before they're gone!

And so there you have it, my first review! Hope you enjoyed it! Feel free to check out any of these products and others on the L'Occitane website! And feel free to let me know if there is any product out there you'd like for me to review. Til next time, LATER LOVELIES! <3
