Birchbox December!

This month Birchbox got into the holiday spirit and sent out a nice assortment of goodies! The box even had a super cute design, it was like receiving a Christmas present!

In my box I received a sample of Aerie Shimmer fragrance, an Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner, Mox Botanicals lip butter, Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo, and a Chocopod from Chuao Chocolatier.

Aerie Shimmer Fragrance ($14.95-$39.95 for full size)

This fragrance has very light and powdery floral notes. It is a fun and flirty scent, and lasts pretty long. I spritzed a little on my scarf, and it only took that little bit to keep me smelling good all day!

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner, Olive ($15.00)

I had never tried this brand before, so I was really excited about this liner! This liner is a highly pigmented olive green. It glides on smoothly and lasts very long. The pen is very precise, I had very good control over the intensity and thickness on my eyelid. I am so glad I
got to try this, I plan to buy this in black!

Mox Botanicals Lip Butter, Pomegranate & Fig ($16.00 for full size)

This lip butter is great! It smells very nice, and it makes my lips feel smooth and nourished. It doesn't feel greasy at all. I have been using this before applying my lipstick, and it really helps keep my lips looking and feeling soft! It also helped to soothe my cracked lips, this cold weather has done a number on them, and this helped heal them fast!

Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo ($32.00 for full size)

This shampoo works so well! This shampoo eliminates buildup and leaves hair looking and feeling great! It has a very light amber and freesia scent that is wonderful. This shampoo keeps hair nourished without stripping it of nutrients. I loved how soft and clean my hair felt after using this, it lathers well and it didn't dry out my scalp!

Chauo Chocolatier Chocopod, Salted Chocolate Crunch ($7.95 for 7-pack assorted chocopods)

I loooove chocolate. How much do I love chocolate?

This is a mini chocolate bar from Chuao, a company that plays with different combinations of chocolate and other ingredients. I received a mini bar with sea salt and breadcrumbs. I was a little leery about trying it, the breadcrumbs and sea salt with the chocolate seemed really weird, but I was like omg chocolate! So I tried it, and it was amazing! The salt wasn't overpowering, it actually made the chocolate taste even better! The breadcrumbs gave this little bar a huge boost in texture! The smooth dark chocolate with the crunch of the breadcrumbs was so delicious. I have never tasted anything like this before, and I had to have more! So I got a pack with some of their other flavor combinations and went to town! I highly recommend this chocolate to any chocolate lovers or foodies looking to try something new!

Sample Society December!

This month Sample Society really stepped it up, I got some really awesome stuff! I really hope the next boxes are as good, I was really taken by this one!

In this month's box I received a mini smudge crayon from Stila, a sample of BB cream from Hanskin, a sample of retinol cream from Murad, a mini bottle of 3 in 1 wash from Philiosophy, and an eye cream from Delaney Wellness.

Stila Smudge Crayon, Umber ($22.00 for full size)

I thought this was great! I love Stila products, and this did not disappoint! This is a dark copper, it is very creamy and blends well. It lasts pretty long too. It is also highly pigmented, so you don't need to use a lot! I had actually never used one of these smudge crayons before, what a shame! I love this! I'm thinking I'll be buying other colors very soon!

Hanskin Premium Perfect Super Magic BB Cream SPF30 PA++ ($33.00 for full size)

This stuff is really amazing! It's super light and creamy, nongreasy and blends so well into skin, giving a flawless (and pale) look - to my hand. Unfortunately, while this BB cream was really nice, it wasn't meant for my skin tone, so I couldn't use it on my face. It is meant for lighter skin tones, I am olive skinned. I wish we were able to choose our skin tone for samples like this, it's a real bummer when you find something you love but can't use. The sample packet of their Natural Skin Tone BB cream was more to my skin tone, and it was very nice! It was just as good as the Magic BB, it wasn't greasy and my face looked flawless! These also have the added bonus of being an anti-wrinkle cream, so I was really blown away by this product!

Murad Age Reform Time Release Retinol Concentrate ($65.00 for full size)

I honestly could not use this sample. This anti-wrinkle cream is meant for deep wrinkles, which thankfully I do not have yet. I couldn't knock it though, I know that they cater to women of different ages, so it's ok. Also luckily for me, the women in my family age very gracefully, so hopefully I shouldn't see any serious wrinkles for a long time.

Philosophy Living Grace Shampoo, Bath and Shower Gel ($22.00 for full size)

I love this soap! It works so well for everything and smells so nice! As a shampoo it's great, my hair felt so soft. It minimizes build up in hair, but if you have an issue with dandruff this is not really meant for that. You could use this after your anti-dandruff regimen though! As a bubble bath it's very soothing, my skin felt conditioned and I felt luxurious soaking in this stuff! As a shower gel it's the best! It lathers very well so you don't need a lot, and it softens skin to baby-like texture!

Delaney Wellness Rejuvenating Eye Cream ($135. for full size)

I like this eye cream a lot! It's a light pearlescent cream that firms skin under and around the eye while brightening. While I could not feel my skin tightening, I did see a difference after using it for two days. I have slightly dark circles under my eyes, and this actually helped to improve them a bit. It absorbs into skin well too, so it doesn't just sit there. You only need a small dot of it per eye, and this was a very generous sample. I'll have this for quite some time!

MAC Spring 2013 Collections!

Just in time for spring MAC will be releasing a few new lines in their ever growing repertoire!

Apres Chic

Apres Chic is a very beautiful assortment of cool colors, perfect for the chilly weather ahead! The colors are also very reminiscent of springtime, with it's pale floral lip colors and earthy yet radiant shadows and blushes.

*This line will be available December 26th at all MAC stores, and December 24th online*

Strength

I really love the look of this collection! The model for this line is great too, the ad really showcases the strong yet feminine accents of this line. The lip colors are very vibrant while the blushes are very natural and toned down, balancing power and femininity very well.

*This line will also be available December 26th at all MAC stores, and December 24th online*

Archie's Girls

Any Archie fans out there? Then feast your eyes on this fun collection inspired by famous comic frenemies Betty and Veronica! Every fangirl is either on team Betty or Team Veronica, and this collection captures the personality of both Archie-crazed ladies! You can either be a natural beauty or a glammed out bombshell! The colors chosen kind of remind me of the color scheme of the old Archie comics, for example I see a Jughead blue eyeshadow there! This looks like it's going to be a super fun line and I can't wait to get my hands on a few of these! For the record, I've always been a fan of Betty, but for this line I'll be wearing both girls' looks!

   *release not known yet*

Make sure to look out for all these great collections coming soon!

Mac Candy Yum Yum: Back for Good!

Recently MAC had done a limited relaunch of three of their most popular colors. Among these greatly coveted shades was Candy Yum Yum, a vibrant matte pink that would make even Barbie giddy! By the time I had heard about this fabulous color they were all gone and alas, I was heartbroken. Well, not that heartbroken, but I was still pretty bummed!

Then I got the text that Candy Yum Yum was back, this time for good!

This gorgeous shade was rated the highest in their MAC by request poll, and now fans will be able to get their pink fix anytime!

If you would like to grab one of these pink treasures check out MAC's site!

Glam Bag December: Haute Holiday!

Oh man, did Ipsy knock this month's bag out of the park! I am so in love with everything I received! I even fell in love with the bag! Initially in the sneak peek I was like eh, kinda boring. But in person I was like

OOOOOHHHH!

The bag is simple but classy! Now, I want to show you guys real quick that Ipsy is getting real serious with these bags, it took me a minute to realize that they have their name all over the lining inside of the bag!

I love this little silver bag!
how cute!

Now to show you the lovely goodies I was showered with this month!

Almost everything in this bag looked full size! Only three of them actually are, but honestly this will all last me forever!
Now as you can see, I have six items in my bag rather than the usual five. Why is that you might ask? Well I will get to that later on, so keep reading!
In this month's bag I received a tube of Mirabella primer, a tube of lip gloss from Be a Bombshell, a bottle of loose pigment shadow from NYX, an eyeliner pencil from Urban Decay, a book of highlighter papers from Mai Couture, and another product from Urban Decay, which I will be introducing to you guys later on!

Mirabella Prime for Face and Eyes ($29.00)

This primer is different from other primers I've used before. It's a gel, and it works pretty well! It is a bit greasy, but if you work it in it isn't as greasy. You definitely don't need a lot either, a dab will do ya! It works pretty well on eyes, there is no creasing, but I didn't use it on my face. The greasiness made me a little worried to try it, I have sensitive skin. Overall this is a really nice primer, and since I got a full size I'll have this forever!

Be a Bombshell Lip Gloss, Hot Mess ($14.00)

one application

OMG I love this gloss! I love the color, it isn't sticky and it make my lips pop! I build up the color a bit for a more dramatic look, but even a quick swipe looks nice! I was first introduced to this brand by Ipsy, and now I am addicted!

NYX Loose Pearl Shadow, Mocha ($3.00)

This is such a pretty eyeshadow! A little goes a long way, I only needed a little bit to cover my lids! This shadow is highly pigmented, and the pearly shimmer adds that extra dash of glam! You can also get creative and use this on your nails as part of a funky design!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, Zero ($19.00 for full size)

I've been in the habit of using liner pens lately, so I wasn't sure I'd like this. The reviews I read about this liner weren't very positive either, but in all honesty I really like this liner! It glides on lids effortlessly, and lasts pretty long. The pigment is almost like a tattoo, so I built it up a bit.

Mai Couture Highlighter Papier ($28.00 for full size)

These highlighter papers are really amazing! I could not believe how much brighter my face looked after swiping a little around my face. I highly recommend using this on your brow bone after applying your eye makeup, it looks gorgeous! These are super easy to use, and you can get at least two uses out of one sheet! I used this on my nose, my cheeks, my brow bone, and a little on my forehead right over my eyebrows. I was so blown away by this product, I have been using it every time I go out!

Exclusive Preview: Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm

And now for an exclusive look at Urban Decay's newest upcoming product!

While looking through my bag I saw this and was pleasantly surprised. I thought, a sixth item this month? Nice! I didn't remember seeing anything about it on the site though. Then I noticed a cute silver card that said "exclusive preview", which said that I was selected to try this not yet released product and review it. Needless to say I was super excited! I also didn't really read the email I got when they sent me my tracking info, and it said there that I was getting something extra, I felt like a ditz afterwards when looking back at it, but this way it really felt like a surprise!
Urban Decay is releasing a beauty balm as part of their Naked line. This balm was so amazing! It is very light and silky, and it blends well. It corrects blemishes and evens skin tone. I loved how this felt on my skin! It was as if I had nothing on! It blends so effortlessly into my skin. I have a few blemishes on my face, and while this didn't cover them up completely, it did blur them enough that they were hardly noticeable. I used a matte foundation powder over it to complete the look and it was great! You don't need a lot of it either, it is very creamy and spreads easily. It doesn't feel greasy on skin at all! I was so glad I got to try this, I will definitely be buying the full size when it's released! The release date is sometime in January so keep an eye out!

Big Pink Box December Double Up!

Ready for double the goodies? This month The Big Pink Box offered two boxes filled with two different sets of swag from women owned companies! I was pretty impressed with what I got, it was a pretty good variety!

Box One

The first box had some pretty cool stuff, check out what I got!

I honestly have to say I wasn't impressed with this compact mirror. I love that it was handmade, but it didn't pop to me. I make things like this as well, and I honestly kind of felt like the design was poorly constructed. I really hoped that this wasn't how all of the designer's work looked like. Luckily my friend Nikki got one too, and hers was way nicer than mine! I went to the designer's website and saw that there are a lot of very cute items! I wish my compact was a better representation of the designer's work, it looks like it was done in a hurry. Either way, I was still very glad to see something handmade like this in my bag! ($25.00)

These are really cute earrings! They are made with a colorful fabric wrapped around them. I have never had a pair of earrings like these, I like how they look! It is a nice change of pace from my usual spikes and faux tapers! ($10.00)

Pink Leopard Frog

www.pinklleopardfrog.com
email: pinkleopardfrog@gmail.com

This was one of my favorite items! This spiked bracelet is punk chic! It's also stretchy so it's easy to put on. The designer also included a really cute hand drawn button of a girl with a frog on her shoulder, maybe it's their mascot? ($25.00)

Queta Accessories

I was not expecting this in my box. I got a sparkly pink bowtie! I have never ever gone Bill Nye couture, but I figured to try it out. But not before getting my bf to wear it first!
As far as wearing it around my neck, it's a no go, it felt too weird for me. It's still very cute, so I will just use it in my hair! ($15.00)

Haute Designs and Styling

This is another handmade item, most likely made from sculpey clay. It's a simple pair of earrings with a simple blue bubble design. I actually like them, they're different, definitely not something I'd deliberately look for on my own. But there's something about them that I just really like. ($7.00)

Body By Brown Roque

twitter: Bodyroque
email: Brownroqueteam@gmail.com

This was very nice! I love the scent, and it made me feel so relaxed. This is a lavender-apple and tea milk bath, you take a scoop of the powder and add it to your bath and bask in the luxury! My skin felt so soft afterwards, I want more! (full size $8.00)

Spectrum Cosmetics

instagram: AccidentalDiva and Sp3ctrumdotcom

At first I thought that there was something wrong with this item, the oil was solid in the bottle. But after warming it up it started to liquify again and I have to say, this stuff rocks! It smells so nice, and even though it's an oil it doesn't feel very greasy on the skin. Once you work it in that's it, and your skin feels really soft and smells nice! (full size $17.00)

Box Two

The second box was pretty awesome too!

Rich Girlz

email: ItsRichGirlz@gmail.com

I thought this was cute, but it isn't really my thing. I like the turquoise beads with the silver, but this didn't really catch my eye. ($30.00)

www.landofpure.net
phone: (850) 602-4722
email: info@landofpure.com

twitter: Whipfinity

This stuff is a natural jack of all trades! Whipfinity is a formula that works for both hair and skin. Just so you know everything this stuff can do, here's the site description:

Hair Uses:Whipfinity can be used to style (when flat-ironing it's a heat protectant), braid & twist (gives a light hold & helps stretch & define curls), to oil the scalp (rub hands with it together & it will liquify), as a "pre-poo", to moisturize, & to add shine to your hair. Because Whipfinity is so gentle it also works very well on children's hair. It is compatible with all hair types (relaxed or natural), and ethnicities.

Skin Use:To get the most use out of your product we advise you to rub your hands together with it to liquify it, and simply rub into any area in need of moisture. Your skin will sigh in relief! It is also helpful with healing scars.

After using it on both my hair and my skin I can honestly say this stuff is great! My hair looked and felt great, and on my skin it just melted and locked in moisture! My hands felt so soft! I will probably be getting more of this later, but for now the sample I got is more than enough. (full size $10.00)

Bie Glam

phone: (314) 398-6326

nice reflection :p
I thought this was pretty cool, the face is silver and the led light shines through to show you the date and time. The band is comfortable, but I wish the face didn't say LED Watch. It takes away from the coolness and makes it feel a little cheap. The directions were also kind of confusing, it seems easy enough but the buttons seemed to be opposite of what the directions said.  Unfortunately two days after I got this it started acting weird and now it no longer works. Definitely my least favorite item of both boxes. ($25.00)

Zombies & Lollipops

zombiesandlollipops.storeenvy.com
etsy: zombiesandlollipops
facebook.com/zombiesandlollipops

This is another one of my favorites! I love the name of the brand too! This bracelet has black beads with one little pink skull bead to give it flare. This is my kind of bracelet! I love zombies, and lollipops are delicious! I will definitely be checking out more items from this brand! ($10.00)

Freak Show Polish

freakshowpolish@bigcartel.com
facebook.com/freakshowpolish
email: freakshowpolish@gmail.com
twitter: freakshowpolish
instagram: freakshowpolish

Yet another favorite I found is this nail polish. It is a glitter polish named after an act you might find in the circus, Snake Lady. This is one of a few in the collection also named after different aspects of the circus. I thought this was so cool! The bottle is cute, the polish is awesome and the brand name is really unique! I went to the site and got the others in the line because they were all so cute! (full size $9.00)

FineTuned Threads

wix.com/finetuned247/yo
etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/FineTunedThreads
email: finetuned247@gmail.com

I received a gift card from this brand. I went to the site, and nothing was really my taste. This brand specializes in street wear, and no offense, I was kind of turned off when I saw the banner at the top say "Threads, Trims and Shit". The clothing is custom made, and I believe you can make a custom order, but there was nothing on the site that I would want to wear, so I will pass on this. It was nice of them to include a gift card, but even if I wanted to use it, I had no clue how, because you apparently can't buy on their website since there's no cart.

Spectrum Cosmetics

This soap was alright, I didn't particularly enjoy the scent though. It was kind of like if you mixed Ivory and Irish Spring together. I did use this to wash my hands and it did cleanse well, and moisturized my hands.  (full size $8.00)

Check out the Big Pink Box, January boxes are now available! I will not be buying a January box, as I have my eye on something else for that month. These boxes go fast so grab your January box now!
