Bootie Nail Polish?

   While looking through my AOL news feed, I came across a headline that said, "Most Unusual Nail Polish Makes Debut". Well I love nail polish! What can be so strange about - ooooooooohhhhhh......

   Bootie Babe is a brand that is all about, well booties. The mastermind behind this brand is Mark O'Hara, who used to be in a 15 guy band called Superbooty. According to O'Hara, the band was silly and fun, so he brought back that energy and channeled it into this brand of ever expanding bootie....well that didn't come out right.

   According to the Stylelist article, the booty shaped nail polish was initially released last year, but there were some design flaws.

new and improved design

   The original bottle had a shorter cap which caused a leaking issue, and there was also a complaint amongst beauty bloggers that the brush was too short as well. So after fixing these issues, Bootie Babe is bouncing back for a re-release this month! Get it? Bouncing?

   They can't all be gold, people.

   O'Hara has no intention of stopping at nail polish either. He wants to make other booty-themed items as well, but no offense man, I would not eat any booty shaped candy or wear butt shoes. Just sayin'...

   Some people have found this to be sexist because of the bottles. Really? It's a butt! It's not your butt, or mine, so what the heck? I think the idea is funny, and definitely different. Each color also has a booty themed name (there are 24 colors), which I'm sure people who can stand a good joke will like. Here's a few gems for ya:

* Fruity Patootie

* Freaky Cheeky

* Coolio Azulio

* Lilac Got Back

* Tears for Rears

* Killer Keister

   And that's to name a few! The colors are actually pretty nice, I will probably be getting one or two myself. If nothing else it'll make for a fun addition to my polish collection!

   If you would like to pick up a booty polish for yourself you can pre-order on their website, plus this polish is cruelty free! Fun and Friendly! So check out Bootie Babe Polish and find your fave!

December Maven Box!

   The holidays are upon us, and Julep is helping make this season merry and bright with their gorgeous sparkling December shades! I fell in love with all the glittery colors, but I was a good girl and only added two extras to my box. This box was super special, it even had pretty snowflake paper and the polishes were wrapped with a gold bow!

   In my box I received Scarlett and Barbara, a tube of warming foot scrub, and as a fun extra treat mavens were given a make your own cabochon ring kit and a little peppermint treat!

to personalize the ring all I had to do was paint the back of the cabochon stone with the color of my choice!
ermahgerd! perppermernt!

   In addition to my maven box I got two add-ons, Harper and and Vivien.

Scarlett ($14.00)

   This is a vibrant metallic red with micro glitter. It is a really pretty color, it kind of reminded me of Rudolph's nose, so I will call this Rudolph red!

   It applies evenly and you seriously only need one coat. But you have to make sure to take off a good amount from the brush before application, the polish pools into the sides. Besides that it dries quickly and looks great!

Barbara ($14.00)

   This is a purple glitter polish. While it does give full coverage I prefer to add a second coat so my nail is extra sparkly!

the sparkles!
  I would most likely wear this over another color rather than on its own, maybe if there was a purple tint to the polish it would be different. It dries very fast though, and is very festive, perfect for this holiday season!

Harper ($14.00)

   This is an opalescent mermaid blue with glitter. In the spirit of the holidays I'm going to call this Jack Frost Blue!

this is my Jack Frost <3
   It goes on a little light, so I would suggest two coats to really get that blue and sparkly combo! If you want to experiment, try it over another light blue to see how it looks!

Vivien ($14.00)

   This is a champagne gold with glitter. I really like this polish, but it's a bit of a pain in the butt. The round glitter is kind of temperamental, so you won't always get a decent amount of it on your nail. The polish itself is mostly clear, but it has a gold micro glitter that is nice. I would suggest to use at least two coats or more to get the look you want. I would also suggest using this over another color, either a gold or even black, to get the most out of this polish. It does dry quickly, and overall is a fun polish that I will call sleigh bell gold!

Instant Warming Foot Scrub ($22.00)

   This stuff is so cool! It smells amazing and is perfect to use in this frosty holiday weather! It has a cucumber mint scent, and has pumice and chili pepper oil to stimulate circulation and exfoliate. I used this on my feet and I was like

   This made my feet feel so pampered! The warming sensation feels really nice, and the end result is very soft and sweet smelling tootsies! During the winter my skin is very dry, and this helped to nourish my moisture deprived feet. This is my new favorite foot care product, and I will continue to use it forever!

Oh! And as for my cabochon ring, I decided to mix Harper and Vivien for the perfect winter accessory!

Sephora Hello Kitty Sweet Gloss and Pen Pal Eyeliner

   I am a huge Hello Kitty fan! So when I found out a while back that Sephora had a line of Hello Kitty makeup I went nuts! So I hit Sephora to see what I could bring home!

as you can see, I really like Hello Kitty!

   Over time two of the products in the Hello Kitty line have become my favorite, the Sweet Gloss and the Pen Pal Eyeliner. I use these so much I can't imagine what I'd do without them!

my favorites, Sweet Gloss in Apple and Pen Pal Eyeliner in Goodnight Dreams

Sweet Gloss, Apple ($16.00)

   This is my favorite color gloss in this line! It smells yummy and adds a hint of color to lips while keeping your lips soft and moisturized! And I love the packaging! The little tube with Hello Kitty all over it is super cute! When I'm too lazy to put on makeup I just put some of this on and I'm good to go! I get asked sometimes if I'm wearing makeup when I only wear this, and when I tell them no they're surprised. When I put this gloss on it kind of brightens my whole face, so I do kind of look like I'm wearing more than I actually am!

Pen Pal Eyeliner, Goodnight Dreams & Purple Balloon ($16.00)

left swatch: Purple Balloon
right swatch: Goodnight Dreams

   I am in love with these eyeliners, the black liner has easily become my favorite! These liners have a felt tip that are very precise, and the liner itself is highly pigmented and lasts long. I can't say it's totally waterproof though, in the cold weather my eyes tear, so my cat eyes tend to get washed away. On the lid it works great, it glides on easily and you have great control. I bought Goodnight Dreams because I loved how rich it looked, it is perfect for making a dramatic eye. I bought Purple Balloon because I love purple. Purple Balloon is lighter than the others, and looks like more of a blue or periwinkle when you apply it. It does last long, and you can always experiment and mix the liners together for a cute design!

   This makeup line has easily become one of my favorites! For a while Sephora had a Tokidoki line, but the quality of the products was hit and miss. This line has some of the best makeup I've ever used, and for affordable prices! I highly recommend you check out the Hello Kitty line, it's high quality cuteness! Check out your local Sephora or Sephora.com and see what you're missing!

Look Bag November

  I feel that this month the Look Bag kind made up for last month's product fiasco, almost everything I received was full sized. I had issues pricing some of these items like last time, leading me to discover that some of the items are either no longer available or hard to find. I believe that they receive their products from third party companies, which sucks but I can't do anything about it. I'm debating cancellation at this point, I'm not sure I want to keep receiving discontinued items if I can't find the full sizes of what I love. Despite my wandering thoughts, I was happy with what I received for the most part.

   In my bag I received a sample of Lola by Marc Jacobs, an eyeshadow from POP Beauty, a pair of tweezers from Sally Hansen, a bar of soap from June Jacobs, a liquid lipstick from Korres, a sample pack of skincare products from Scarlett and Greene, and a mini glitter liner from Too Faced. I was very excited when I saw all this stuff, and the full sized products made me feel like I really got my money's worth!

Lola by Marc Jacobs ($22.00-$88.00)

   I am in love with this perfume! Lola has a very soft peony scent that is amazing. I went nuts when I smelled this, it was gorgeous! It is light yet sophisticated, I wanted to tape my wrist to my face to keep smelling it!

    Yea, I got a little hyped, but if you were to smell this you would too!

POP Beauty Eyeshadow, Lavender Love ($14.00 on various sites)

   This seems to be a discontinued item, but I love it all the same. It's a very light lavender with a hint of shimmer. It is highly pigmented, and glides on effortlessly to eyelids. There was a little fallout but nothing to really be concerned about. I love the color! It is very reminiscent of spring, but I think I will be wearing this for Christmas!

Sally Hansen La Cross Tweezers (price unknown)

   I could not for the life of me find where to buy these tweezers, so these must be discontinued. These were interesting, I had never seen a pair of tweezers with a rounded tip, and I wasn't entirely sure what to use these for. So I used them for the regular stuff I'd use my normal tweezers for, and they worked surprisingly well. I actually didn't pinch myself as much either, it was a nice change of pace. I may be using these the wrong way, but they work for what I need them for.

June Jacobs Green Tea and Cucumber Body Bar (price unkown)

   I think this was the one item in the bag I wasn't too thrilled about. This looks like one of those hotel soaps.

if you've seen Dr. Tran you'll know exactly who this is XD

   It smells nice, and cleanses okay. I felt like I had a little residue left on my skin so I had to rinse my skin more thoroughly a second time. My skin felt moisturized and soft afterwards. I could not find this specific bar on the brand website, but they have a line of other products with this scent.

Korres Liquid Lipstick 56, Vibrant Red ($22.00)

   This is a really nice lipstick! The color glides on lips, and has a nice glossy finish. The red is so vibrant and creamy, I fell in love with it! It has a brush applicator, making it easy to apply. And it smells kind of like vanilla, which I thought was nice. They offer other colors, but for $22.00 I dunno if I'll be getting the others anytime soon. I'm so glad I got the full size in my bag!

Scarlett and Greene Skincare Sample Pack

Under Cover Natural Moisturizer ($21.95), Bare All Breakout Control Wash ($22.95), Come Clean Cleanser and Makeup Remover ($22.95)

   Apparently this skin trio is for "young" skin, and I have no clue what age constitutes young skin. I'm 24, so I imagine I'd be in the bracket somewhere. Unless this is for teens, in which case screw it.
   I used the cleanser/makeup remover, and it smelled gross. It reminded me of spoiled fruit. It cleanses okay, my skin felt kind of tight and dryer than before washing. So I figured to try the moisturizer. It has no smell, and it is thick. It doesn't really absorb well into the skin, it feels like a good amount of it stays on top of your skin, and it feels a little greasy. I didn't need the breakout control wash, since I have had no recent breakouts, but I haven't had a breakout in a long time.  Overall I was unimpressed with this line of skincare, and I will not be looking into the full sizes.

Too Faced Starry Eyed Glitter Liner in Ooh and Aah ($15.75 for full size)

<3
   This glitter liner is super pretty and easy to apply! It isn't sticky and it doesn't smudge easy. It has black and silver glitter, and lasts long. I used it the first day I got it and received a lot of compliments on my eyes! I want all of them now!

   I may tough out this subscription to see what I get in December, if I really like my bag I will continue, but if not I'll have to say goodbye to TLB. I liked this bag, so there may still be hope yet. If you would like to try out the The Look Bag for yourself you can sign up here.

Influenster Voxbox: Crest 3D Whitestrips, If You're Not Whitening, You're Yellowing!

   I was super excited when Influenster told me I was again selected for another Voxbox! This time I was to try and review Crest 3D Whitestrips, and I can honestly say I am in love with the results!

   I have a history with whitening strips, not a very good one either. I have tried strips that have literally tasted so much like bleach it turned my stomach, and I have tried strips that did absolutely nothing at all. These strips were amazing! I received a 20 day supply, so I got to whitening immediately!

   First off, they are super easy to use! Each packet has two strips, the longer strip is for your top row of teeth, and the shorter one is for the bottom row.

   The strips have a clear gel on them that will stick to your teeth. All you have to do is peel the strips off of the plastic backing, and apply them (gel to teeth of course). Since these are Advanced Seal, you have to press the strips against your teeth a little to make sure they deliver the best results!

the beginning of my whitening quest! (strips on)

   I love that these had no taste! I felt a little tingling in my mouth, but no nasty bleachy taste! I had to leave these on for 30 minutes, I almost forgot they were on my teeth! They stuck so well to my teeth that they didn't bother me enough to remember I had them in! After the half hour was up I gently pulled them off. This was the only part I have to say I wasn't a fan of. There was a little bit of gel residue still stuck to my teeth after I peeled the strip off, but it dissolves quickly with water. Also, I experienced a little sensitivity afterwards, but according to an email I received from Crest it is normal to experience minor sensitivity after whitening and it is usually temporary. Besides that minor hiccup I was surprised to see that after the first strip my teeth looked a bit whiter!

   My teeth have improved with every use! I am so glad I got to try these strips, these are better than any other I have tried! I never really knew people looked at my teeth, but I have been receiving compliments on how white my teeth look, which gave me mixed emotions:

                                                       "I appreciate the compliment!"

                                                "Wait, why are you staring at my teeth?"

                                           "Are you implying that they were bad before?"

                                                       "No, no it's cool, thanks though."

    Anyways, if you're looking for a great whitening product, this is the one for you! And with the holidays now officially upon us everyone wants to look their best for friends and family! So wow them with your dazzling smile this season and try Crest 3D Whitestrips, because if you're not whitening, you're yellowing!
