Green Grab Bag November!

November was a super hectic month for me, and a lot of the subscriptions came super late due to hurricane Sandy. So forgive the lateness on the next two posts please! ^_^

This month's Green Grab Bag was really interesting! I received some nice goodies I was excited to try and some goodies I would never ever consider trying on my own!

In this month's box, I received a sample bundle from Purity Botanicals, A sample of cleanser from Collective Wellbeing, an eyeliner pencil from Gabriel Cosmetics, a sample of peppermint body milk from Isvara, a tube of peppermint vanilla lip balm from Hollybeth Organics, and a sample of raw goat milk skin therapy by Tierra Mia Organics.

*record stop* wait.....GOAT'S MILK!?

exactly!

Tierra Mia Organics Raw Goat Skin Therapy ($25.00 for full size)

I was so not expecting something like this to ever cross my path! I didn't even realize what the jar said until I opened it up to smell it! The smell shocked my system, prompting me to better analyze what it was. I would never ever consider on my own putting raw goat's milk anywhere near or on me! And the cheesy look of it was off putting to boot! But as a beauty reviewer I have to take one for the team, so I put on my game face!

let's do this.
The smell was a weird mix of citrus and...old cheese. The consistency felt cheesy too. But, I have to say, it did work well on my face. It melted into my skin, and left it feeling super soft and moisturized. I couldn't get past the smell, but once you apply it to your face it starts to kind of dissipate. I can't say I will be buying the full size, but I did like the results.

Purity Botanicals: Deep Pore Cleanser ($37.00 for full size), Liquid Gold ($49.00 for full size), and Lip Whip (not yet available)

This bundle from Purity Botanicals was pretty nice. The Deep Pore Cleanser worked very well, it left my skin feeling super clean and smelling great! My face is oily in some places and dry in others, and I felt this cleanser actually tackled both. The Liquid Gold I had to look up because I had no clue what to use it for. It is apparently a serum that heals cuts and scrapes, and is also good for spot treating acne and hydrating skin. It does a little bit of everything apparently! I didn't use it for any cuts or burns, but I did try to spot treat some acne, and surprisingly it did help. I had a lovely zit brewing on my forehead so I decided to try out this stuff, so I dabbed a bit on (this stuff seems to last forever!) and after a few hours the zit looked visibly smaller. As far as the Lip Whip goes, this is a new product they havent put out yet, so I'm glad I got to try it! It seems to be a tinted lip balm, it nourishes and softens lips, while giving a hint of color. The little container they gave me has a decent amount, and I have a lip brush so I can make this last until the full size comes out!

Collective Wellbeing Corrective Cleanser ($15.39 for full size)

This was a product I received in the place of another that didn't make the deadline due to the hurricane. This cleanser has raspberry and oatmeal, and is supposed to help "cranky" skin. This specific cleanser is best for sensitive and oily/combo skin. This cleanser is different from what I've used before, because it is a paste rather than a cream. It is very thick, and you have to work it into the skin to dislodge dirt and debris. It feels like a mask, and when I washed it away my skin felt undescribable! I felt like I pulled of my old skin and replaced it completely! This is a great product!

Gabriel Cosmetics Zuzu Luxe Pencil Eyeliner, Black ($13.80)

This was a nice eyeliner. It is creamy but sturdy so there is no need to worry about the eyeliner crumbling away. It is pigmented, but not by much, so I would advise using this liner pencil as a lid liner rather than on the waterline, as it will definitely wipe away. It looks better on the lid, and the sturdiness makes it ideal for cat eyes and wings.

Isvara Peppermint Body Milk ($11.95 for full size)

This body milk moisturizes the skin and leaves it feeling soft and smelling minty. I love peppermint, so I was really excited to try this. It absorbs well into skin, and doesn't leave a greasy feeling. I've been using this after my showers and it has helped lock in moisture, especially on my legs. I get super dry legs during the winter, so this had helped to reverse some of the damge.

Hollybeth Organics Snowflake Lip Balm, Vanilla Peppermint ($7.00)

I love this lip balm, it makes my lips feel so soft and hydrated, and tingly! It smells so good! I take this everywhere with me now, when I don't wear any lipstick I put this in my pocket and I'm good to go! My lips get super dry when it's cold, and this so far has helped to prevent my lips from cracking.
